Carles studied mathematics (Differential Geometry of Curves and Surfaces) at the Faculty of Mathematics of the University of Barcelona (1997) obtaining later a degree in Physics at the Faculty of Physics of the same university in 2000. In 2002 he obtained the Post Graduate Certificate in Education at the Institute  of Education Sciences, Polytechnic University Barcelona and an Msc in Advanced Physics at the Physics Faculty of the University of Barcelona,where he later obtained a PhD in Physics.

He has been post doctoral fellow at Chimie ParisTech research institute, in the Theoretical Chemistry & Modeling team [http://coudert.name/group.html], Paris (2010-2012) and he is currently Postdoctoral research fellow, Atomistic Simulation Centre, School of Mathematics and Physics, The Queen’s University Belfast.

He has taught Classical Mechanics, (2009-2010) at the Polytechnic University Barcelona and (2012-2013) at National Advanced School of Public Works Yaounde-Cameroon to future civil engineers and Mathematics and Physics at secondary schools in Spain (2006-2009)

He is involved in WP5 and as part of ENACT he will be spending a three months secondment in Mendoza during 2017.
